They say that for women, the brain is fully developed at 25 and you start to make better life decisions and act more like an adult. Yeah right...
Men, however…Do you guys even fully develop a brain orrrrr?… Yeah, I’m sure you’ve got a fairly developed brain by 25…
Anyway, the rumours are true- things do start to change after the first quarter…For example:
1. I look 3 months pregnant for about 12 months of the year.

2. I can’t wait for the weekend so I can paarrttaaayyyyy – in my bed, with my eyes closed.
3. I can count my squad on one hand and I have few other friends that I really let in. People come and go, but by the time you reach 25, you discover who’s around for good. No hard feelings, we’re just smarter now.
4. I realise how cool my parents are and how hard they work/ed for us. Your relationship changes as you get older and you begin to understand each other more. You’re all fully grown adults now- the dynamic has changed and you can appreciate each other differently. It’s so good.
5. I can now say ‘no’. For example:
“Wanna go out this weekend and waste our time, money and dignity even though you’re tired?”
“Aww, sounds like fun, but NO.”
“Hey cutey, send me a pic of what you’re wearing.”
“Aww it was a NO yesterday, it’s a NO today and it’s going to be a NO tomorrow, fool.”
“I’ve been ‘too busy’ to message you for 3 days but now I’m free and I really miss you, come over.”
“N- to the -F*&^ing -O.”

Are you understanding, friends?
Anyway…
6. It’s worth buying your casual Summer dress from Target if it means you save $100 that can go towards your next trip, an awesome couch you’ve been eyeing off, or you just want to splurge at Coles this week! Priorities change!
I know people who are embarrassed to say where they got their outfit from if it isn’t something higher end. Like, bitch this is from Targe’ and I am fabulous.

7. You realise that you actually aren’t perfect. I know- it came as shock to me too. In saying that though, it’s about how you spring back from your craziness. I’m learning to apologise more- something pre-25 year old Magda was not great at because she was “always right.” Now I’m just ‘almost always right.’
8. You become more grateful because you’ve seen more of the world and actually enjoy a documentary here and there. We are the minority living in absolute luxury and by 25 you should be able to understand this. Open your eyes and be grateful for your first world problems, you spoilt brat.

9. I’ve begun looking for ‘Anti-Aging’ beauty options and am realising that the fine lines under my eyes are starting to become not-so-fine.
10. I now love myself- I may not have that much body confidence yet, but I am very confident in myself as a person. Keep self-reflecting to better yourself, but remember that the biggest thrill in life is having the confidence to live your life your way.

What has changed for you or what are you looking forward to/not looking forward to after turning 25?
Lots of Love,
Magda xx
